Before riding

Despite the careful manufacture and assembly control, there is the possibility that some of the part get loose during transport or it comes to some changes in certain functions.

Therefore, before each ride it's very important to check the following things:
-the accuracy and secure fit of the bell and the lights
-the accuracy ans secure fit of the braking system
-tightness of cables and connectors of the hydraulic brakes
-eventual damages of tires and rims (foreign objects, runout, …), especially after riding in the fields
-sufficient tread depth of tires
-accuracy and good seal of the suspension elements
-the fastening of screws, nuts and quick tensioner
-eventual deformities and/or other damages on frame and forks
-the proper position and the correct, secure fit of the handlebar, the handlebar stem, the seatpost and the seat itself

If not sure about the bike's perfect technical/mechanical condition, avoid riding it before visiting a specialized bike service to give it a check.

Do not let cleaning agents or oils penetrate the brake linings, brake discs and braking surfaces on the rims. Otherwise, they will reduce the effectiveness of the brakes.

Avoid cleaning with strong water jet or high pressure cleaner. If the strong water jet reaches the bicycle it can penetrate the bearings. This will dilute the lubricant and increase the friction. Consequences are the formation of rust and the waste of the bearings.

Avoid cleaning the bike with the following liquids:
-hot oil
-cleaning agents for brakes (except the disc brakes)
-liquids containing solvents

The above mentioned substances erode the bike surface and accelerate wasting.

Dispose the lubricants, cleaning and care agents in a non-toxic place for the environment.
Do not dispose these substances in the houshold waste, the sewage or in the environment.

The functionality and longevity of the bike depends on the maintenance and care invested into it.

-Clean your bike regularly with warm water, a small amount of detergent and a sponge
-While cleaning your bike, check carefully if it shows cracks, cuts or deformities of some of the materials
-Before using the bike, defective parts should be replaced
-Repair the damages on the painted places

Take care of all the parts that are at risk of corrosion, especially during winter and in an „aggressive“ environment like the proximity to the sea, using the proper care products. Otherwise, your bike will corrode stronger and faster.

-Regularly clean all galvanized and chrome parts and components made of stainless steel
-After cleaning these parts, use a wax spray to preserve them. Be careful that the wax doesn't reach the disc brakes and the rims
-If the bike isn't beeing used for a longer period (eg. in winter), store it in a dry place
-Before storing the bike, inflate both tires on the prescribed pressure

Wearing  and corroding parts

Your bike is a technical product that needs to be checked regularly.
Many parts' functions are subject (also depending on the use) to high wear  and/or corrosion.
Take your bike to a specialized bike service for regular check and replacement of the wear and/or corroded parts.

Important informations about maintenance of wearing parts can be found on the websites of manufacturers of such components or ask at your specialized service.
